Detroit trans person charged over horrific dog stabbing

Detroit Police and local media say that a fugitive "Detroit woman" was finally arrested over the brutal knife attack on a dog.
But the suspect is not a woman. Jordan Love, 29, is a trans person who was previously known as Jordan Colangelo. He's been charged with the torturing of animals. Love live-streamed himself after the brutal attack, showing the dog bleeding out on the ground on Feb. 7, 2025. Love is also accused of stabbing a cat.
When police visited the home, they found it was filled with feces, urine, blood and trash. Five additional animals were found living in the squalor. Love fled the state but was finally apprehended in South Carolina on March 20 and extradited back to Michigan to be arrested.
Love appeared in court in Wayne County, Mich. on April 10 and is being held on a $50,000 bond. His lawyer tried to convince the judge to let him out, saying the knife and blood at the home is not evidence of a crime.
The dog was rescued in time and has been in recovery in a foster home.
