February AMA Questions
Our February AMA set a new record for our all-time biggest turnout! If you missed it, here's a sample of the stimulating conversation you can expect from each month's Q&A:
Q: "Is there some kind of legal instrument you can use to protect your IP once the Lord calls you home?"
A: Note: This is not legal advice. I know of at least one best selling author who set up a trust and named his son the executor of his literary estate for just this reason. Regardless of the exact method you use, taking steps to protect your IP is a vital part of every creative professional's job. A smart first step is scheduling a consultation with an experienced IP attorney.
That's just one example of the engaging and informative discussion my patrons and I enjoyed in February. Here are the other thought-provoking questions from February's AMA:

- I have heard some authors say they would release their works into Public Domain when they die. A) Is that possible (or does copyright law prevent it)? B) Would it help?
- Claude 3.7 with reasoning, which has been recently released, can write entire short stories in one go. No more cutting things into parts! What are the implications?
- What are the benefits of going wide vs. Amazon? Especially when, like with litRPG, Amazon might have complete genre capture?
- Is Conan public domain?
- In the far or near future, do you see yourself using AI to localize your works into other languages?
- Thanks to RawleNyanzi investigation royal road I'm gonna release a series on there as experiment. How should I use the Lester Dent formula for making killer chapters for that type environment? (1500 word count chapters)
- What music do you enjoy listening to?
- Do you use music as a writing tool? Or do you need quiet?
