I’ve been bringing some of my worldbuilding illustrations to life, and the first result is a 30-second introduction to the Commonwealth of Sovereign Systems.
Five great races—the Mydians, Earthens, Aquilans, Ranians, and Evelyns—form an alliance that has endured for thousands of years.

Commonwealth Chronicles will explore the setting behind The Silver Alchemist through short videos: glimpses of its peoples, places, and history beyond the novel’s central story.
Thank you for following and supporting my writing. Your support helps me devote more time to the books and the world surrounding them. If you’re following for free and would like to contribute, please consider becoming a paid supporter.
Which race or part of the setting would you like me to explore next?

My website got a makeover

I built my own website a long time ago, and looked at it recently. It was bulky, and needed a lot of work to make it nicer.
And while I am a really good coder and wrote almost the whole thing from scratch, I did not have the brain-space for it. I really didn't. I want to work more on my next book, I want to world-build and conlang more! I want to focus on that.
So I decided to let ChatGPT and Codex take care of it. I used pyCharm, linked it to Codex, and let it go to town on my website. I had it hack out crap I'd implemented but didn't use anymore, got rid of the Bootstrap framework I'd been using, and had it revamp the site using a new template I had ChatGPT generate. And now, it looks bloody amazing!

Now, don't get me wrong. I hate the idea of vibecoding. You need to know how to code and understand what a program is doing, or you're stuffed. And I made damn sure of that when I did this. I trusted it to do the CSS right and HTML, because, frankly, that's not real code IMO. But the server backend, Codex touched it only when I asked it, and very sparingly. And any change it made, I scrutinised heavily. And sometimes, it did make mistakes that I had to correct.
Having said that, it allowed me to do in five hours what would have taken me three weeks. And that I cannot appreciate more.
So go and check out the site. And read about my upcoming project, The Silver Alchemist.

Experimenting with video generation

So I took the image I generated with ChatGPT of my character, The Silver Alchemist. I put it into Kling AI, with this prompt:
Running through a bio-mechanical forest, the crescent shape of a gas-giant planet looming in the sky overhead. His eyes glow with increasing brightness. He roars, "I am the Silver Alchemist" and unleashes the energy in his hand.

All I can say is, Wow. I was not expecting it to turn out so well. I'm going to look into using this to produce more content.
However, I doth verily proclaim! NEVER SHALL I USE AI TO GENERATE MY NOVELS! THEY SHALL BE WRITTEN BY ME!
